FORWARD
Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
st
A warm welcome to all invited speakers and participants to the 1 International
Postgraduate Symposium on Food Security (IPSyoFS-22) seminar. This year, the
st
seminar is conducted on a digital platform, and the theme of 1 IPSyoFS-22 is
“Strengthening Food Security: Sustainability and Opportunity during Post COVID-19”.
st
I am proud to share that the 1 IPSyoFS 2022 Seminar is jointly organized by Bogor
Agricultural University (IPB), Indonesia and the Faculty of Fisheries and Food Science
(FPSM), Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT).
I believe we agree that research in food security is fundamental to ensure that
everyone has enough to eat and families can build their communities without worrying
about securing their lives. Through significant findings and scientific breakthroughs in
food security, we researchers can help our society to meet their dietary needs and
food preferences for an active and healthy life. Therefore, continuous development of
food security is crucial for physical and economic access to sufficient, safe and
nutritious food. This framework may guarantee secure access to food and produce
wide-ranging positive impacts, including economic growth and job creation.
st
The 1 IPSyoFS-22 seminar is aimed to gather post-graduate researchers and experts
worldwide to share the emerging and recent findings about food security. That is
focusing on meeting the present research needs without compromising the ability and
livelihood of future generations to meet their needs, which is in conjunction with the
theme of this seminar.
st
With the participation of speakers from academia, the 1 IPSyoFS-22 will be an
excellent platform for critical discussion and sharing valuable knowledge and
discoveries. Networking and collaboration opportunities across multi-disciplinary
boundaries are also expected from this seminar. Lastly, I would like to express my
highest appreciation to the Organising Committee of the 1 IPSyoFS-22 Seminar.
st
Thank you.
