P. 21
I can achieve anything
“I can achieve anything.” This is one of those
phrases that feel obvious at first, but after a second though seem
to be plain wrong, but it isn't. For what we feel is way more
important, and almost always correct, as compared to what it
seems to be.
Why should this even be asked? Human potential
is infinite, infinite in everyone, why won't it be able to achieve
what we wish? But then, no, many things, or most things for
that matter, yes, but anything, it just feels not to be possible, Class - -
how can it be, not everyone is the greatest, which apparently,
does disprove this statement.
But upon thinking about it deeply, the answer appears in such a way, that
it may have just been hiding in plain sight. This thinking, is the obstacle, that prevents
one from recognizing this, and thus achieving the heights they dream of.
And those who don't get blocked by this obstacle, this negative thinking, and
recognize what they can achieve, they do achieve it, and become “great”.
But what does great even mean, one may ask. Does it mean that your
contribution is recognized far and wide? Not necessarily. What greatness should
mean, is that you achieve what you wanted, what you dreamt of, that you are satisfied
with whom you are.
Many small artists who make handicrafts are satisfied with who they are.
And on looking at them with a greater thinking, they are great, they have achieved
what they wanted to be.
Today most of us dream of the greatest heights, that are hard to achieve.
But many make the mistake of believing that they are impossible to achieve, hard
never means impossible, no matter how hard something is, it is never impossible.
And though you will agree to this, yet you may argue, it won't be possible to achieve
those heights, just based on the sheer numbers that can obtain those heights, so I'll put
forward another argument, after all it indeed is about satisfaction, I ask you, “Can one
be satisfied only at the greatest height?”, the answer, after a bit of thought, is obvious,
yet difficult to admit, the answer is no.
Thank You.
