A+ Schools are Fun
by Shelly Smith Hornback, Director of Community Relations
Fun is an important part of the high quality education for which Litchfield Elementary School District is widely known. By incorporating
fun into all aspects of our noble work, we are able to demonstrate excellence in public education’s most recognized measurable categories.
Our rates of teacher retention and student success are among the highest in the state. By strategically employing initiatives to have fun, we
are able to strengthen relationships, boost morale in children and adults, and engage students to achieve their highest levels of learning.
th
There’s no doubt about it—summer camp is fun, fun, fun! Our summer camp programming for preschoolers through 8 graders begins
on Monday, June 3, 2019. In addition to games, activities,
field trips and friends, our summer camps include
the Conscious Discipline (social-emotional learning)
traditions that are incorporated at every Litchfield school
all year long. This helps children feel safe and connected
to caring adults who are trained to help them thrive at
school and in life. Visit the “Community Education
Department” at www.lesd.k12.az.us for details about
the recreation opportunities we offer at affordable rates.
Providing high quality education to more than
11,000 students is serious business, and we appreciate
our community for supporting the innovative and
data-driven strategies used to propel our “A” rated district.
Together we are developing tomorrow’s workforce and
strengthening the fabric of our community—and we think
that’s pretty fun.
