SAFEWAY EXPLOSION
November 1965
At 3:30 am the store was
ripped by two violent
explosions, which moved
overhead beams, blew out
the back of the store and
blasted the front glass
into the parking lot.
The explosion originated
in the furnace room and
natural gas was the cause.
