22. Covid-19

Existential crisis, if any, in early 2020, a
new virus from the Coronavirus family
appeared.
The WHO named it Covid-19 because

the first symptoms appeared in 2019.

First detected in China, it rapidly invaded every country in
the world. In Belgium, the lack of knowledge about the
effects of the virus, its degree of contagion and the benefits
of wearing a mask meant that few measures were taken in
the first few weeks.
Northern Italy was hit very quickly and very hard.
Despite this, Belgium did not consider it appropriate to carry
out strict controls at airports and railway stations when
returning from winter sports.
The contamination evolved, and the peak of the 1st wave
quickly reached the hospital's capacity limits. At this point,
extreme measures were taken, including a general lockdown
for several weeks and the closure of all non-essential
businesses.
Hairdressers and barbers also closed their doors. For
6 months, I endured the effects of Covid-19.
After the 2 wave, the 3 , the 4 and the beginning of the

5 , vaccination campaigns followed one another at a steady

pace. Fortunately, the results are convincing.
The question remains: when will the end come!
