25. The Autumn of my life - epilogue
I've known family, friends, pals, the world of business (as an
employee, executive, director, CEO), university professors, bikers
on Harley-Davidsons, almost all of them tattooed, and I've
essentially learned that, in biker gatherings, what matters
most is "passion": who you are, what you do for a living,
doesn't matter. Bikers get together to participate in "runs".
In this circle, I've met surgeons, stars, university professors,
great athletes, but also blue-collar workers, hairdressers,
employees, entrepreneurs... small, big, men, women, every
continent is represented. What's really impressive is that
they're all happy to be there, all talking about their
"passion". The social diversity is extraordinary.
To revert to the title of the book: a Life, my Life, my path,
it seems to me that I have indeed completed a life's path: my
early childhood in San Giovanni Lipioni, my childhood in
the coalmines of Hainaut, my youth, my studies in Brussels,
my work in the nuclear medical field, my position as a
university professor, my corporate life in an international
group, my 25 years as a company director, but also my
passion for trips on a Harley-Davidson, my passion for wine
travel, my various hobbies and my Ariadne's thread:
Science.
For all these moments in life, I'll remember just one
expression: To live is to feel!
