     The Mountain View-Birch Tree School District is located in Howell and Shannon Counties. The district is com-
     prised of two elementary schools, a middle school and a high school, serving approximately 1300 students from
     towns of Mountain View and Birch Tree, MO. The two schools combined in 1972 to create our current school
     district.
                                       Birch Tree Elementary is one of our two elementary schools and is located in
                                       Birch Tree, MO. It includes grades Pre-K through 5th and has approximately
                                       185 students, with approximately 2 classes per grade level. Birch Tree Elemen-
                                       tary emphasizes basic subjects of reading, language arts, math, science and so-
                                       cial studies. Library, art, music and physical education are part of the regular
                                       curriculum and are offered to each student on a weekly basis. This school offers
                                       Title 1 services for both Reading and Math. Birch Tree Elementary also offers a
     preschool program for children ages 3 and 4. Included in these programs is also a gifted and talented student
     program, as well as summer school.

     Mountain View Elementary is located in Mountain View, MO.  It includes
     grades Pre-K through 5th and has over 470 students, with approximately 3
     classes per grade level. Mountain View Elementary emphasizes the basic
     subjects of reading, language arts, math, science and social studies. Library,
     art, music and physical education are part of the regular curriculum and are
     offered to each student on a weekly basis. This school is also Title 1 for both
     Reading and Math.  Mountain View Elementary offers a preschool program
     for children ages 3 and 4. It also offers a gifted and talented student pro-
     gram, as well as summer school.

                                         The Liberty Middle School is where both elementary schools come together
                                         to create one school that consists of grades 6-8.  It includes around 285 stu-
                                         dents. The Middle School offers the core subjects as well as many electives
                                         for students to be involved in. Some of the electives include Agriculture,
                                         FACS, Student Outreach and many other options.  The school has a student
                                         council program too. This is the newest addition to the school district.  It
                                         was built in 2012.  This school is located across from the High School in
     Shannon County, between Mountain View and Birch Tree.

     The high school is the final step of the Mountain View-Birch Tree School
     program.  It houses grades 9-12 and includes over 345 students. The educa-
     tional program at the High School includes a regular and college preparato-
     ry program that fits the individual needs of the students. Our High School
     offers an A+ program that gives students a scholarship to go to college for 2
     years, if they meet the criteria which makes them eligible. Additionally, the
     school has many classes offered that combined with MSU-WP for dual
     credit, such as College Algebra, College English, Biology II, Art History,
     and Public Speaking. The High School has many electives offered that give the students some freedom in what
     classes they participate in throughout their day. Creative Writing, Novels, Natural Disasters, STEM, weight and
     fitness classes, Personal Finance, and Journalism are just a few. It also offers a variety of athletic programs such
     as: Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Girls Soccer, Cross Country, Track, Golf, Swim, and
     Tennis. FFA is available and includes many programs like Trap team and competitions for forestry, soils, Ag
     mechanics, floriculture, and livestock. They offer several music programs with band and choir.
