Last Words

We do hope, fervently, that this is not the end, that one day soon we will all be out walking again, in
groups, chattering away, sharing each other’s company as well as sharing the scenery and the
wildlife around us. Bushwalking can indeed be a solitary pursuit and many are enriched by the
exercise but as John Donne says,

                                                    No man is an island,

                                                      Entire of itself,
Every man is a piece of the continent,

                                                    A part of the main.

And so many of us walk to be with others, to share in their companionship and to participate with
               others.

I thank all who participated, all who wrote and all who have walked with us over the years. I thank
all who will continue to walk in and love the bush and all who have made the National Parks
Association of NSW such a vibrant family.
