GLIMPSES OF SCIENCE DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES

The Vidyalaya has Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Computer science well-

equipped laboratories. Students take keen interest in science activities. This is quite
evident by the scores of the students in science subjects in CBSE -AISSE and
AISSCE exams for the past decade. Our students also participate in exhibitions,

Quiz competitions, and in any other science activities with full enthusiasm and
hard work to bring laurels to the Vidyalaya.

Some of the activities undertaken in the session 2019-20 by our students are as

follows:

1. JIGYASA-Visit to CCMB Centre For Cellular and Molecular Biology, a

premiere CSIR Lab. Students got the experience of interacting with the PhD
students, Professors and learnt the about the magical molecule DNA.
2. NRSC-National Remote Sensing Centre –Outreach Centre, Students
were taken to the centre and were shown the satellite replica of

MANGALYAN. Satellite images of earth were shown and Sr. Scientist
explained the water and soil quality and its impact on crop production in the

coming years.
3. INSTITUTE OF FOREST BIODIVERSITY, Hyderabad, Our children
were taken to have a first hand experience of a thick dense forest amidst
crowded city. The native trees like sandalwood, Teak, Jamun, Neem,

Banyan, Tamarind, etc The forest is a model of conservation and there the
students, research fellows undertake study to make more and more areas
greener and greener by following simple scientific studies and principles.

4. Our students participated in Science Olympiad Foundation Exams, Indian
Association of Physics Teacher’s exams in various subjects like
Physics,Chemistry,Biology and Astronomy. They also took part in ISRO

conducted competitions, VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN (online
exam)TERRI-Green Olympiad examination.
5. NCSC-National Children Science Congress Regional Level Master Aman

Dhyani and Master Arman Ahmed, got selected for the Nationals for their
work on an exhibit-Earth quake detector.
6. JNSMEE-Students participated with a lot of zeal and presented their ideas to
the panelist.
