assisted our coach Mark on training days & extra net sessions, encouraged our boys & generally helped create an atmosphere we our proud to call our Blues Cricket Family.
We’d particularly like to thank Gobi, our assistant coach, who led our boys brilliantly at the start of the season in Mark’s absence & continued to contribute valuable tactics on game days. Aditya, for your extremely beneficial catching skill drills & for your enthusiasm each match day you were able to attend, even when your son could not. Misha, for your willingness to volunteer so often for manual scoring. To Brenton, Enoch & Gobi for taking control of e-scoring each week, we all love live scoring & the boys relish watching their statistics accumulate.
Our Great Manager Cathy, keeps the boys together on and off the field, continued commitment every week. Snacks, drinks, pick up’s and drop off’s, scoring, fielding, support for the coach. You name it, Cathy has it organised. I’m sure she is a robot sent back from the future.
Cathy also did a fantastic job co-ordinating our end of season Parents V Kids game which reinforces our team commitment and camaraderie. It’s always a great day.
And finally, to our inspirational coach Mark Hayes. In your second year as coach, we can all agree that you led the boys with a great sense of fair play, dignity & the drive to always perform at their best. Your organisation to make sure everyone was together & shaded each week was truly amazing! The boys are not only better cricketers because of your skill development, valuable weekly training sessions, vital extra nets practice, gentle guidance & words of wisdom particularly on match days, but they are also better human beings because your lessons are life lessons. We thank you for your inclusive approach & the equality you show every team member & look forward to an even more successful season under your expert guidance.
Green
The U12s Green Team had yet another great season in 2023/24 with all members of the team displaying their ability to consistently improve their skills is all facets of the game.
A big thank you goes out to our awesome and ever supportive parents once again and especially to James our manager and Danny our assistant coach, for all your support and help throughout the season. It made my job that much easier and enjoyable!
Some brief player profiles for the Green Team...
Nakiah Batra
Nakiah took out the best batter trophy this season. He displayed excellent skills in all aspects of the game but above all, Nakiah continues to shine with his batting and graceful style. With a total of 246 runs for the season and an average of 49.2, Nakiah starred with the willow.
Matthew Bigwood
Matthew was a new addition to the team this year and we are all so glad to have him aboard. In all areas of the game, Matthew displayed a mature attitude and never failed to take on tips from the coaching staff, effectively transferring that knowledge to his game. Matthew’s sportsmanship and support for his teammates was outstanding.
Kaiven Ghandi
Kaiven has improved in all aspects of the game this year but particularly with his bowling, becoming more accurate and increasing in pace. Whether in the field, at the crease with the bat or behind the stumps, Kaivan’s all-round ability was evident this season.
