Aiman – another new addition to the team and was strong on both batting and bowling, with 11 wickets. He showed he was very much a supportive team player.
Hashaam – unfortunately, illness curtailed him playing after the mid season break. However, he was a willing and enthusiastic team player. Despite bowling further behind the bowling crease than I have ever seen, he proved himself a handful for many batters.
Srivanth – winner of the team batting award on 328 runs (41 Ave). Our co-captain for the season and played an important role in the final with some wonderful bowling taking wickets at crucial times.
Blake – last of our new additions. Being new to cricket it would have been easy for him to be overwhelmed. However, his focus and willingness to learn at team and many personal practice sessions paid dividends. His bowling accuracy improved significantly and he was hard to hit even for accomplished batters. He took six wickets and did a good job in the field throughout the season (incl. 4 catches). Being the most improved during the season, he earned the Team Player award.
Jacob – last but by no means least. What a season. Kept wicket. Turned to spin this year and took 23 wickets, so was the recipient of the Team Bowling award (despite missingthree games whilst on holiday). This included a ‘five for’ in the semifinal. His batting was powerful all year, particularly in the Semi and fair to say he carried the team into the final with bat and ball.
A special season for the boys, who played in great spirit, respectful of the opposition and umpires and showed great resilience after a few hard (and contentious) losses. Thanks again to our wonderful group of parents who supported the team every week. Lastly, our coach Bala deserves a mention for another fantastic job this year developing and working with the boys and balancing the teams needs.
U15 Red
Under 15s red latest Cricket season ended with optimal effort from both sides. After a series of eventful and enthusiastic gameplay from the team members the team placed first on the leaderboard and became minor premiers. New additions to the team included Tejas and Hirein who each adapted to their new team well. Team memebers noticeably excelled from last yhears performance with Mihir getting a hatrick (bowled, bowled, bowled), Direin taking 6 wickets and Ryan, Hirein, Malinda, Kristian and Tejas backing up in the bowling/fielding department. Sometimes bowling out opposition teams under 70 runs.
Within the batting order Maher scored the bulk of the teams runs accompanied with other tremendous batting performances with Kevin (Captain), Rehan, Ranuk, Jarryd, Hesandu scoring 50+ scores when needed. On one occasion scoring 280+ upon 30 overs.
Unfortunately, the season came to a close with a loss against Kissing Point in the Grand Finals. However it is clear how far the boys have come since last season.
