CONTENT STREAMING
Augmented reality content delivered to the mobile device is done so through streaming, none of this content is stored in the app.
The performance of content delivery can be affected by:
1. File size
2. Internet access
Keep experience file size to a minimum. Whilst the platform has limitations to the size of files that can be uploaded for experiences, the smaller the better experience is for the end/app user. It is far better
for an end/app user to receive a shorter video, if even a “teaser”, immediately than experience a delay in accessing content.
Internet access. When planning an augmented reality campaign, it is important to remember that end/app users will need “decent” internet to access their augmented reality experience. Campaigns set up to be delivered in areas that are prone to poor mobile internet or Wi-Fi may not work as they should.
Note:
• Wi-Fi can at times be inconsistent. If when testing a campaign, it appears that there is a streaming issue, switch the mobile device to mobile internet and test again.
• Wi-Fi routers can at times cache content that has been streamed to devices. If changes are made to a campaign and they are not reflected on the mobile device, switch the mobile device to mobile internet and test again.
