Figure 181: Harley liked doing chores—he got to drive the
ranch truck when it was time to feed cattle out in the pasture!
In December of 2015, family members, including Jimmy Strause
(Harley's uncle), Doug and Kayla Strause (his first and second
cousins), were at the ranch doing chores. Uncle Jimmy decided it was
time for Harley to have a new adventure. Harley sat in the front
passenger seat of their truck. When Jimmy got out of the truck to open
a gate, he instructed Harley to scoot over and drive.
Doug moved next to Harley to show him how to put the truck in
gear and gave him instructions. Uncle Jimmy sat with Doug's
daughter, Kayla, in the back seat as Harley drove to the pens. Harley
then drove on through the herd of cattle with a huge smile on his face.
He drove! Jimmy supported this ambitious stunt because he knew
Harley wasn't afraid to try anything.
