Though not aware or diagnosed at this time, Harley was beginning
to lose his sight, but it didn't affect him enough to prevent him from
playing soccer for a season in the South Austin Youth Soccer
Organization (SAYSO).
One of the first signs of a problem with his vision occurred when
he was approaching five years of age. He was riding his bike with his
friends in the neighborhood. Harley was observed riding his bike
straight into the street in front of an oncoming car. This was very
