At birth, since Harley had been diagnosed slightly jaundiced, his
doctor recommended that he might lay in the sun for a short time
daily. So consistently, twice a day, every day, his parents placed him
stretched out naked on a towel next to the family pool for fifteen
minutes at a time. Harley's aunts, uncles, and cousins thought it
