Due to transplant plans, in August of 2015, Harley anticipated he
would not be starting his senior year at Bowie High School. He made
arrangements to enroll in an online school, Texas Virtual Academy.
He expected to be in Texas Children's Hospital for the entire fall
semester. Harley reportedly commented, “Hasta la vista, Bowie.”

However, just a few weeks later, these plans were reversed. Harley
would be going back to Bowie for his senior year. The bone marrow
transplant was pushed forward to July of 2016. Harley returned to
Bowie for his first day of class his senior year. BMT arrangements
were taking longer than expected. His family felt much frustration.
