Page 7 - 2017 Year End Summary

Our Fine Arts Festival was held in May at Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene. We
held three nights of shows; the final show was the first community outreach
concert produced by Quest for Education and Arts.

Quest Drama performed their stellar production, “Northwoods Nonsense”. Two
shows were held on May 20 to great acclaim from those in attendance.

We had 22 students participate in our Inaugural Baccalaureate Ceremony. The
ceremony included a banquet, live music, a Christ Candle from which each of the
students lit their own personalized baccalaureate candle to carry out into the
world. In addition, a tribute was made to a former teacher, Dustin Jones, who
had passed away during the year. Each student was given the opportunity to
suggest a portion of the ceremony that reflected the way they worshipped. One
person accepted Christ as their savior after this service. Following baccalaureate,
6 families chose to graduate their students through Quest for Education and Arts
ceremony.

JUNE

Quest confirmed its new location at St. Odilia’s Christina-Taylor Green Memorial
Education Center.

Quest held its first Homeschooling Through Highschool Seminar. Families were
introduced to the history of home schooling by Dr. Ed Moody, encouraged to apply
for additional help and support as well as awards by Dr. James Gruhl and the
history of Quest was summarized by Dr. Rebecca Thai. People were encouraged
to home school all the way through high school and support services were offered.
