            •  French I- (middle and high school) French 1 introduces students to the basics of the French language as spoken
               in Europe. Students will learn greetings, verb conjugations, basic survival vocabulary, pronunciation rules,
               grammatical structures, and cultural highlights (including tasting French cuisine). They will develop basic
               reading, writing, and conversational abilities, learning to understand and practically apply what is taught rather
               than simply memorizing the information. The class will also include learning worship songs and Bible verses, en
               français – bien sûr! This class may be used to fulfill a foreign language credit for high school. Textbooks: Bob

               establish and foster student interest and motivation in learning mandarin. Young students will do this through
               meaningful, hands-on activities that encourage the use of the language. They will learn to listen, speak, read and

               contact may include demonstrating culturally appropriate behaviors and/or remediating students’ sign

            •  Spanish I- (high school) This introductory course is designed for students with little or no previous study of
               Spanish. Some students in class might have studied Spanish before but have not grasped some of the important
               structures of the language. This course teaches basic language patterns and vocabulary. Repetition and
               comprehensible input are important components of this course. Focus is on all four language skills; listening,
               speaking, reading and writing. Culture is an integral part of the course and is introduced through the use of
