Western European culture, diffusion and impact of world cultures, peoples and events upon
               development of
               Western Civilization. Our journey will include all
                                                           of the following (but not limited to): Ancient Greece, Ancient
               Rome and   the Roman Empire, the Middle Ages, the Christian and Muslim Crusades, the Renaissance, the


               Reformation,   Revolutions (English, French), and the Scientific and Industrial Revolution.





               Students will regularly practice their written   skills and have the opportunity to express their ideas verbally in
               class discussions while looking for present day comparisons and influences of
                                                                                     modern thought. Required Text:

               journey learning about the   U.S.A! From the signing of the Declaration of Independence, to the wild west, you'll








               uncover and discover all   the secrets this Nation has to offer! Along the way, you will learn the about the
               Commander in Chiefs (past and present). Discover the sights and sounds of all 50   states, including state symbols,
               famous people, landmarks, and historical events.  Grab your travel bags!   It's time for a Road Trip!
               ** This class is designed for learners   of all shapes, sizes, and ability levels. There will be several very simple



               homework assignments   each week. At the end of the year, students will have a complete Road Trip Portfolio

               class will relate history in a lively story format with lots of visual stimulation. This   will be a very hands-on class
               with weekly activities, demonstrations and simulations. The class will study   the geography, religion, government,
               philosophy, art,   and literature of the major civilizations of the past and their contributions to the modern world.


               The class will begin with   the study of prehistoric humans, following the progress of civilizations through the High


               Middle Ages. Special emphasis will be given on   the civilizations of ancient Israel, Greece, and Rome as these

               civilizations   have had such a profound effect on the shaping of American institutions. Required Textbook: The


               Human Odyssey Vol. 1(Prehistory Through the   Middle Ages), Copies of specific readings will be provided by the
