            SISKIYOU CHALLENGE



             n late April, athletes and outdoor enthusiasts joined in Racing Towards a
            IStronger Food System in Ashland as part of Rogue Valley Farm to School’s
            8th Annual Siskiyou Challenge—an epic, multi-sport event for everyone
            from pro to novice. “While a few athletes competed alone, having a team
            makes it possible for everyone,” says race coordinator Greg Dills. “Building

            at our doorstep,” according to Rogue Valley Farm to School executive direc-
            tor Sheila Carder. “It’s a great way to support getting healthier food in our
            schools and have fun doing it.”

            It’s an event that rewards participants and the community, so keep an eye
            out for next year’s dates.

                                                          rt blooms in Downtown Medford once again this Mother’s Day Weekend,
                                                      AMay 12 and 13. On Mother’s Day weekend, Downtown Medford will
                                                      host its 18th annual Art in Bloom Festival, presented by the City of Medford,
                                                      Southern Oregon Media Group, Horton Foundation, Lithia, US Bank, Grange
                                                      Co-op, Inn at the Commons, RVTD, and many others. Art in Bloom is a
                                                      spectacular springtime festival showcasing over 120 West Coast artists and
                                                      horticulturists to exhibit and sell their work, which includes a fine selection
                                                      of photography, jewelry, garden decor, paintings, and much more. Activities
                                                      include a children's arts and entertainment area, live music and entertain-
                                                      ment, and food and drink vendors. Artisans are located on Main, Central and
                                                      Bartlett Streets, while live entertainment is enjoyed at The Commons and
                                                      Bartlett Street Stage. Visit the Information Booth in Vogel Plaza to receive a
                                                      map and entertainment lineup for the weekend. Also, enter the giveaway to
                                                      win gifts from the artisans. There's something for everyone at Art in Bloom!
