rtists’ Workshop of Southern Oregon and Central Art of Medford
Awill present the fourth annual Southern Oregon Plein Air, starting
at dawn on June 21. Artists working with two-dimensional art may par-
ticipate over two days at their chosen outdoor venue (within a 50-mile
radius of Medford). Their completed pieces will hang in the show to
follow. During these paint-outs, members of the public are invited to
watch the artists at work.
Participants may submit up to two paintings, competing for $2,000
in cash awards and prizes. Nationally renowned Portland artist Aimee
Erikson will judge the competition at the June 23 En Plein Air award
ceremony and reception held in the gallery at the Art Presence Art
Center. The event is open to the public, with work submitted for judg-
ing to be displayed until July 29.
Aimee Erikson and Vinita Pappas will conduct workshops prior to the
contest. Registration opens March 1. Information and a detailed sched-
