                                                                  A SUCCESSFUL EVENT!
                                                                  Once more, the SkyOak Financial Southern Oregon Classic—the third
                                                                  annual—at Centennial Golf Club was a roaring success. Folks showed
                                                                  up with full hearts and wallets and empty tummies. Even the weather
                                                                  cooperated. Golfers did what they do well—cheer for their good
                                                                  shots, groan at their misses. But they played for a worthy cause and a
                                                                  good time was had by all.

                                                                  Over 1,000 guests attended The Feast. The generous bites and tast-
                                                                  ings added up to a more-than-filling multi-course meal. Long lines
                                                                  formed for some of the samplings, and strangers became friends-of-
                                                                  the-moment while standing at bistro tables, eating and chatting. As the
                                                                  sun sank into the western sky, the music started. The Blue Wave Band
                                                                  filled the night with music, and the dance floor filled.
                                                                  People enjoyed themselves, but never forgot the reason for the event.
                                                                  Golfing events raised money, and throughout the evening Feast attend-
                                                                  ees walked the aisles of the auction tent, determined their bid allow
                                                                  them to take home the trip, the entertainment voucher, the item
                                                                  they desired. Everyone’s generosity allowed a generous donation of
                                                                  $40,400, an increase from the $34,242 last year.
                                                                  The monies went to ASANTE Foundation (helps oversee major pro-
                                                                  jects that have dramatically improved the health of the communities
                                                                  served); CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates – highly trained
                                                                  volunteers who help children, the innocents, navigate the court sys-
                                                                  tem when their adults’ lives fall apart); Resolve Center for Dispute
                                                                  Resolution & Restorative Justice (if we resolve enough small issues,
                                                                  might we make progress on global-sized conflicts?)

                                                                  Sponsors were generous, and volunteers put in untold hours to make
                                                                  the weekend happen. Young men from Cascade Christian High School
                                                                  helped with setup and breakdown, and kept the grounds tidy through-
                                                                  out the event. Join us on July 19-20, 2019 for this year’s event.
