soft opening for members only, I
Wwas greeted by Britney Thornton,
the tasting room manager and Jorden Williams,
tasting room associate/social media manager. Both
ladies have a passion for wine, are extremely knowl-
edgeable, and were more than happy to walk me
through the tasting flight including Viognier, Rosé
of Grenache, Bomba, Syrah, and Essensia Muscat.
The main tasting area is bright and inviting, and
there’s outdoor seating to enjoy stunning views of
Mount Wellington and Mount Isabella. The new
facility utilizes a commercial tasting room sur-
rounded by mountain views and vineyards. What
makes this incredibly special is guests can catch a
glimpse of the entire winemaking process from
harvesting grapes, crushing, processing, ferment-
ing, bottling, and packaging.
Founded in 2006 by husband and wife team Herb
and Meloney Quady, Quady North is a family-owned
winery specializing in Syrah, Viognier, Cabernet
Franc, and what Herb calls Rhonish style wines.
Herb is a second generation winemaker and his team
specializes in single-vineyard wines and blends from
vineyard-sourced and estate-grown grapes. The team
is dedicated to producing minimally handled wines
that reflect the diverse micro climates of Southern
Oregon.
I had the pleasure of taking a behind the scenes tour
with Herb and learning more about the history of
the winery. I always love visiting barrel rooms and
