        PUTTING FOR DOUGH
and coaches focused their favorite tops on drills of this art.
Drive for show, putt for dough is the old adage. Many of our pros
                                   FACE ANGLE,

                                  PUTTER PATH

The two factors that exert the most influence on the starting direction of a putt are:
Face Angle – The direction the face of the putter is pointing at the moment of impact with the golf ball.
Putter Path – The direction that the putter head is traveling at the moment of impact.

These two variables do not always match. It is very possible for the path of the putter to be traveling to the right of the golfer’s
intended line, while the face angle is oriented left of the intended line. Most golfers tend to work primarily on path when they
practice. Through video, we now know that face angle affects the starting direction of a putt about three times more than path.
Try spending a practice session or two focusing solely on face angle and you might love the results.

Our Rebel Golf T-Square has traveled with us all over the world, including on our recent trip to Australia, plus to the Masters to
help with Rebel alumni playing and, of course, the NCAA regionals and finals throughout the years.
The T-Square ensures your feet, body, shoulders, arms and eyes—basically your entire “putting package”—are aligned to the
hole, which allows you to be as consistent as possible on the greens. Plus, it is a perfect guide to ball position.

Place the T-Square on the green with the “short T” perpendicular to the body and in the proper ball position. Then place the
“long T” on the path to the center of the hole. To ensure the putter head stays square at impact, place the ball just in front of the
“long T.” The back of the putter (end nearest your body), will swing back and forth parallel to the “long T” and help guarantee
“square” putts. You should be easily able to see putts that start right or left—or hopefully square—with how the putter swings
                      along the T-Square line.
