Baptisms

righteousness of Jesus. But the 'Us' would also come to
mean Jesus and all believers who would follow Him.

                (c) to fulfil all righteousness meant He was declaring His
righteousness by an outward act of obedience to the will of
His heavenly Father. In return the Father publicly dedicated
Jesus and His ministry in v17 "This is my Son, whom I
love, with Him I am well pleased."

So it is true with all Christians who are baptised. They
are not baptised merely because they have confessed and
repented of their sins. It is in order to fulfil, by an outward act
of obedience, the inward righteousness they have
received in their hearts by faith in Jesus.

Having seen how the The Lord Jesus Christ founded
Christian Baptism and the background from which it came,
                some questions that arise are:-

 How is it to be adminstered?

 To whom is it to be adminstered?

                 What is the purpose?

 What happens to the one baptised?

There are also questions from some churches and modern
day practices, that are worth looking at when concluding this
                study.

                 How is Baptism administered?

The Baptism of Jesus is the model. Matthew 3 v16 'As soon
as Jesus was baptised, He went up out of the water.'
