2. FAITH in or towards God

The word translated as FAITH has a number of very clear
and positive meanings in the Bible.

 A firm conviction producing a full
acknowledgement of God's truth.

 A personal surrender to Him

 Conduct inspired by such a surrender

FAITH is not believing in some wishful hope or something
mysterious that seems better than nothing.

GOD has given many proofs of His existence, His
creation, His love for man - through giving His Son,
Jesus Christ, to save men and women from eternal death
and to be with Him in Heaven.

If there is no Faith so that people refuse to believe, then God
does something else. 2Thessalonians 2 v10-12 '.... They
perish because they refused to love the truth and so be
saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful
delusion, so that they will believe a lie and so that all will
be condemned who have not believed the truth but have
delighted in wickedness.'

This is why some people believe in very strange religions or
philosophies. It is not that these religions have merit but
because there is a delusion on people because of their
refusal to have Faith in the true and living God.
