Faith in or towards God

In the same way, FAITH will produce fruit, as an evidence of
its presence.

This fruit is Obedience and Service to Jesus Christ.

The book of JAMES in the New Testament has a great deal
to say about Faith, Fruit, Obedience and Service (or works).
James 1 v19,20 ' ...everyone should be quick to listen,
slow to speak, slow to become angry, for man's anger
does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.'
It goes on to say how this can be done in verse 21 '...get rid
of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and
humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save
you.'

The Word spoken of, is not just words from the Bible but the
life of Christ living in a believer, that brings the words to life.
JESUS is the WORD. John 1 v14 'And the Word became
flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory, the
glory as the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and
truth.'

So Faith in God and His Son Jesus Christ will produce
Obedience.

How do you tell when a child is obedient? Not when he or
she listens to the parent but only when he or she does what
has been instructed. So it is with the Christian.

James 1 v22 'Do not merely listen to the word and so
deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who
listens to the word but does not do it, is like a man who
looks at his face in a mirror, and, after looking at himself,
goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.'
