Faith in or towards God

to work at the crucial time, some have lost their 'faith'.

There is a warning, given by the Apostle Paul, to stay close to
what God has spoken to believers, through His Word (the
Bible and sometimes also through prophecy).

It is in 1Timothy 1 v18 'Timothy, I give you this
instruction, in keeping with the prophecies once made
about you, so that following them you might fight the
good fight, holding on to the faith, and a good
conscience. Some have rejected these and so have
shipwrecked their faith.'

In speaking to those who would be church leaders (deacons)
the Bible emphasises this again in 1Timothy 2 v9 'They
must keep hold of the deep truths of the Faith with a
clear conscience.'

So Faith and a good conscience go together and each
keeps the other pure.

HOW DOES FAITH COME?

Romans 10 v17 'So Faith comes by hearing and hearing
by the word of God' or as another translation puts it ' ...by
hearing the message of Christ.'

In Isaiah 55 v3 'Give ear (listen) and come to me, hear Me
that you soul may live.'

There is no real mystery to Faith. God is trustworthy, He tells
the truth in the Bible and He has proved His love by giving
His Son as a sacrifice. Therefore it is the duty of men and
women to have Faith and believe it is so. John 6 v29 'Jesus
answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one
He has sent."
