Introduction

What is the Church and who belongs to it?

The word CHURCH literally means a company of people or a
company of professing believers.

The purpose of these studies is to provide a beginners guide
to that which the Bible teaches about the ingredients that
constitute a professing believer.

What does it take for someone to become a professing
believer and take the name of Christ to themselves and be
called Christian?

This study is about how a person becomes a member of the
church of the Lord Jesus Christ and is not a set of rules for
joining a particular church or denomination.

It also aims to remove some common misunderstandings
about what really makes someone a christian.

It will provide the basis of belief for all those who wish to be
members of the local Church and be committed to that part of
Jesus's worldwide church.

This study deals with the basic teachings of Christianity
which the Bible holds as essential truth for a professing
believer.

It can be approached in several different ways. Taught in a
class setting, from the pulpit, in a group or by individual study.
It can also be at a pace to suit anyone.
