The Elementary Teachings of Christianity
The teachings of christianity are also referred to as
DOCTRINES.
This comes from the word - doctor, which in bible times
referred more to those who taught rather than the practice of
medicine. So doctrine is that which is taught and, in cases
where it is used in the Bible, there is a stress on authority.
In other words behind this teaching there lies an authority.
The Basic teachings or elementary doctrines are found listed
in the New Testament in Hebrews 6 v. 1&2 and are:
1. Repentance from acts that lead to death or dead
works (i.e. from sin)
2. Faith in or towards God
3. Baptism
4. Laying on of Hands
5. Resurrection of the dead
6. Eternal Judgement
