Another landmark restaurant in its day, The New Jersey Restaurant, located at 230 Federal Street was
owned by Kyrifides’ mother’s aunt, Sophie Calogeris. Kyrifides uncovered a glowing article about the remod-
eling of the popular restaurant. It was another time for Camden. The restaurants fed a thriving industrial
city. Now another generation of this family is contributing to Camden in a different, but also a very nourish-
ing way. “I feel a real connection to this project,” Kyrifides said.
