they wait for desperate circumstances before they think of God
often causes them to feel guilty for having waited so long
before calling. God does not mind and will respond to the
requests of mankind where there is need. Then we begin to see
God. We see God in the goodness of his works.
If there is no response to our beseeching we
decide that there is no God or if there is we are wasting our time
calling on Him. Perhaps that we asked for help into a situation
we needed to be out of. God because of his goodness couldn't
allow us to go wrong and therefore could not assist us in this
instance. Nor would God necessarily interfere where lessons
need to be learned. There can be many reasons where an
apparent lack of response by God to our imploring is further
evidence of God's existence and of His goodness.
We often ask God to give His blessing to a
situation and assume God will. If what we are doing is wrong
then God cannot endorse what we are doing. God can only act
positively.
God will let us suffer if we need to. We often
need to suffer so that we can discover that there was no such
need in the first place. Illness causes suffering and is vital to
our life as a guiding factor. It makes us look at our life and the
way we are leading it. God will let us suffer illness so that we
may progress. Illness can be fatal if we chose to ignore the
