The building process must follow very strict and ridged guidelines and inspection procedures along the way.
In the 4steps2profit way of developing software the initial documentation is only the beginning of the creative process. The development team will continue the creative process with their own ideas of how to interpret and implement the management team’s vision as described in the vision document. They are free to collaborate and try various alternatives. They are free to experiment and arrive at multiple scenarios for bringing the management teams vision into reality. Some alternatives will work, and some will be a failure. But they will even learn from the failures.
When Thomas Edison was inventing the light bulb, he said, “I tried everything that didn’t work” until he found the one thing that did. Our development team is free to find everything that doesn’t work, because that will lead them to the best solution to the problem. The developing solution will be built of a string of successes that the development team decides to keep. The evolving system will be an accumulation of ideas that have worked and improved upon the original vision of the management team.
