Debating Club
For Upper School boys who love to argue this is the club for them! Using materials recommended by the English Speaking Union, boys learn how to structure an argument, listen to each other’s points of view and most difficult of all, respond to a verbal challenge, ‘thinking on their feet’. Each year, the school hosts an Inter-school Debating Competition, which comprises a day workshop for six pupils from six or more schools, followed by a half day competition that is judged by mentors from the ESU. The winning team holds The Ben Marshall Debating Shield until the following year.
Digital Photography Club
This club is open to Upper School boys wanting to learn new photography skills. Opportunities will be available for the boys to take digital photographs both indoors and outdoors using a variety of techniques, then edit them in the ICT Suite using software such as Photoshop and Paint 3D.
First Aid Club
This club is open to all and leads to a qualification in first aid. Two courses are run each year from September to half-term in Lent and from Lent to the end of the Summer term. Boys learn basic first aid as well as learning to deal with unexpected events in everyday life.
