Lesson 9.1: LNG Fueling

LNG Fueling Process  Dispenses a cryogenic liquid into LNG vehicles
 Fuel temperature is a safety factor
 Requires specialized training
 Requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Purpose of LNG  Provide onsite storage of LNG
Fueling Station  Warm LNG in the storage tank
Equipment  Increase pressure for delivery
 Measure and dispense LNG

Public Access LNG  Stations like this dispense only LNG
Fueling Station  Concrete structure around storage
tank
o Required by code to contain all
LNG within storage in the event
of a severe leak

L/CNG Stations  L/CNG stations make CNG from LNG
and can dispense either LNG or CNG
o CNG is vaporized and stored as a
compressed gas until it is
dispensed
o CNG is not compressed
separately
