WAKE UP AND DO YOUR THING
Choose body language that shows you’re open, honest, and trustworthy. We use different body language for different situations, but in general this means looking people in the eye and smiling, pointing your heart towards them, and synchronizing your posture and pace of speech. Obviously, if you’re sitting next to someone on the subway, you can’t do this. In these situations, you’ll need to assume rapport.
Make Eye Contact
In our culture, eye contact says, !Trust is in the air.” Babies do this naturally. We get suspicious of people who don"t look us in the eye.
With that said, I understand that not everybody can do eye contact, so here"s a simple tip: notice the color of the eyes of every stranger you meet. You can forget it again immediately afterward if you wish, but that"s enough time to send a signal of trust from one unconscious mind to another. We"re talking basic instincts here. The rule is pretty simple: no eye contact, no trust.
Turn On Your Smile
The second thing that babies do easily as long as they"re comfortable is smile. Again, in our culture, a smile sends the unconscious signal that that person is happy and confident. Think about it. The next time you are in the street or in a
