• Ask: “What do solar panels do?” (get electricity from the sun)
“What can udents use because of the electricity from solar panels?”
(computers, printer, DVD player)
• Draw udents’attentionbacktothetextandreadthe remainder of Paragraph 5 on page 9.

• Have udentsputtheir ngerontheSolutionboxonpage7 of their O to Class notebook. Remind them of the que ion: “What is the solution? How are the children in Chalanbeel Region, Bangladesh, able to go to school?”
• Explainthatyouwillrereadthe r fourparagraphson page 9 from O to Class so that udents can answer the que ion and add notes to this section of their note-catchers.
• Draw udents’attentionbacktothetextandrereadthe r four paragraphs on page 9 aloud.
• Invite udentstocompletetheSolutionboxontheirown note-catchers. Since this is an assessment, be supportive and encouraging but allow the udents
to answer the que ion on their own. Circulate,
encouraging udents to provide as much speci c detail as possible and to use the How to Take Notes anchor chart as a support.
