Hello Neighbors!
Thank you so much for your generous donations to our adopted school, Woodbridge Elemen-
tary. We wish you all could have seen the faces of the excited teachers as they filled their
bags with much needed school supplies for their classrooms. You made it possible for all the
kids to have the basics plus so much more. We want you to know how grateful they are for all
of your support and we will continue to be there for them throughout the school year. In fact,
there are multiple ways we can “give back” and make a difference in the lives of these chil-
dren. Here are some of the opportunities:
Be a penpal. This past year we had 74 children matched
with Penpals to exchange a few letters, help them prac-
tice writing skills and make a new friend. We deliver the
letters to you, so it’s an easy and fun way to participate.
Be a classroom volunteer. As often as you like, even as
little as 1 or 2 hours a week to assist teachers with small
groups, preparing materials, leading reading groups,
chaperoning field trips, etc.
Be a tutor. Meet one in one with children to focus on reading and comprehension skills. Often these are
English learners that need extra attention and are wonderful to work with and to see their progress.
In-school participation requires an easy background check and fingerprinting for the school district. We
have the forms and can help you with the process. Please contact any of us for more info and we hope
you join us for some very fun and rewarding times.
