I can’t believe it’s already February! Seems like we just celebrated the new year.

The January storms sure did a number on California and we were lucky to not have much happen in the community; some local-
ized flooding that dissipated pretty quickly and only a few trees that took a beating. Some of the storms sure were scary. I hope we
don’t have to go through that again any time soon. We did have a bit of water intrusion into The Retreat Library but thankfully it was caught in
time and we were able to quickly begin drying out the area. At my article submission deadline of January 23rd, the Library was still closed. We
anticipate the process taking a couple more weeks to complete water tests, remediation and clearance testing and will move scheduled events
accordingly until we are back open for business as usual. We will continue to keep the community updated as we know more.

At the January 25th Board Meeting, the Board approved the fitness class rate increase of $2.00 per class. The current class rate is $4.00 and will
now be $6.00 effective March 1st. The drop-in rate will go from $6.00 to $8.00. There aren’t any fee changes for Circuit Training, TRX, or Per-
sonal Training.

There were several great events held in January: Spaghetti Feed, Trivia, Karaoke, and Chinese New Year dinner just to name a few. It’s so nice
to see everyone out and about and in The Retreat more often. SIG groups continue to meet and more members are coming in just to hang out. I
love it!

Landscape has been a hot button for many members and management has been working diligently with the Board on a resolution to the many
concerns received over the last few months. Be on the lookout for updates soon.
