As my career progressed I pursued opportunities in
the following states: New Jersey (hometown is Ro-
selle Park), Grand Rapids, Michigan; San Diego, Cali-
fornia; San Antonio, Texas; Melbourne, Florida. Dur-
ing the last year before my retirement work responsi-
bilities included consolidation of business processes
for financial planning and reporting, financial re-
source management including Contracts, Pricing,
The Biltmore Estate
Program Finance, Information Technology, and General Accounting (accounts payables/
receivables, general ledger, and payroll administration) for $500M multi-site operation.
Once retired, Gail and I gravitated to 55+ communities which offer the potential for new
relationships, involvement in activities of interest and excellent facilities for enjoyment.
Some of my interests include: travel, bowling, bocce, photography, golf and for Gail, quilt-
ing and book clubs. Since retiring, I have expanded my photography knowledge by learn-
ing post production activity using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. I have published two
photo books for family and created a photography website to facilitate sharing some of my
photography interests. My website is: I-Go-Golko Photography (https://
www.bgolkophotography.com). Some pictures in this article can be found on that website.
Gail does exceptional travel planning with a recent trip we took in 2019 which I call the
“Bourbon and Bluegrass Tour” experiencing some highlights in the states of West Virginia,
North Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky. Many of the photos on my website capture some
photographic highlights from those locales. Our future is much brighter now that COVID
Street Scenes Nashville seems to be under better control as Gail and I look to explore more sites out west.
