David Komar and Maria Winkler - we opted to take the Couples Winter Package: a
5-night all-inclusive guided park exploration that includes time at the natural features in
Yellowstone, including the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, wildlife-rich Lamar Valley,
and Old Faithful Geyser. Normally, Yellowstone attracts 3 - 4 million visitors, but our
group of ten were the only ones at each of the attractions. Winter time is the time to see eve-
rything without crowds. Almost all the roads are closed during winter to regular traffic, so
we went on special snow busses with huge tires that accommodate 12 people. The driver
adjusts the inflation of the tires depending on the weather; more ice needs more road con-
tact, so he deflates the tires accordingly. We saw herds of bison and elk, coyotes, river ot-
ters, and many birds, including bald eagles and swans. Yellowstone is one of the world's largest volcanoes, with 300 active geysers, which are
more visible during the winter because you can see the steam in the cold. It is the first national park in America, established in 1872 by President
Ulysses S. Grant. The menu at the lodges include bison, wild boar, quail, and duck; bison short ribs are delicious.

Myron and Rebecca Jenkins in Thailand on our Holland
American Cruise in December. We embarked in Singapore and Brian and Dee Parry with family celebrating 2024 in
sailed to Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Great cruise! front of Enzie Lane celebration sign.
