Rick & Cindy Wohl and Carole McGrath traveled to Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland &
Denmark. We visited the Rundale Palace in Latvia and looked at Russia from the Lithuania border. It was a beautiful trip.
Gary & Susan Wheeler’s Road Trip. White Sands National Park in New Mexico is well worth the trip and you can rent a snow disc to
slide down a gypsum sand dune. Hiking and camping is permitted, depending on weather conditions.
Next stop is Carlsbad Caverns National Park. You can take an elevator down 700+ feet to the cavern entrance and you can also walk or hike to
the natural entrance but it is a steep and narrow route. This is an exceptional place with more than 300 caves, some yet to be fully ex-
plored. You can reserve a spot for the night flight of thousands of bats coming out of the cave to feed on moths and other flying insects.
Our next visit is to Estes Park, CO. When visiting here you will be sharing the town with visitors from across the street (Rocky Mountain Na-
tional Park) these Elk are downtown, in residential communities, and the golf course, where you are allowed to move your ball from the elk
poop without a penalty stroke (mine stayed where it landed). The park itself takes several visits to explore with streams, lakes, and mountains
above 12,000 feet. Getting to and from these places is entertaining and educational in and of itself.
