There were many devotees of Chile Maharaj at Kolhapur. Big
shot business man, doctor, engineers, young students, illiterate
people used to come to Chile Maharaj for darshan.Increasing
crowd of the devotees was a major disturbance for the other
residential people. They had launched a police complaint against
Chile Maharaj. But Chile Maharaj used to order the police also.
In spite of his weird attitude his devotees were increasing.

He made the works of the devotees easy. He has also treated my
incurable disease. I had a tremendous back pain. He treated it by
a simple touch. He was considered a ‘ Dutt a Avatar’.
There was no sincere regularity in his day to day life. He
was not a soft spoken person. But He was very clever at times.
He was opposing the surgery of my company owner. But he
got himself operated and he left this world on 15/01/1982. Chile
Maharaj was worried about the owner’s family after his death.
He used to look after the children. He used to feed them at times.
There was no difference of veg and non-veg for him. Even today,

his devotees feel his warmth around them. There is a beautiful
turtle shaped huge temple of Chile Maharaj at Paijarwadi on the
Kolhapur- Ratnagiri highway. Its structural designer, Engineer
Berry was felicitated by the Concrete Institute of America as an
outstanding structure of the year for his turtle shaped creation.

One day, I was sitting and one beggar came to me, I had

nothing to give him. All of us were hungry. He blessed me by
his words, he said “you’ll be the richest person very soon” and
he went with the empty hands. That time, I decided to be the rich
person and that I will be the giver. And I remained giver for the
rest of my life.
