FEAR UNMA S KED

upon you. It’s confusing, unprecedented (you’ve
probably heard that word a hundred times in the
last week), and it seems like no one really knows
what’s going on. Yesterday you heard that 2.2 million
beloved Americans are predicted to die from the
contagious coronavirus, but today you heard that
less than 200,000 Americans are predicted to die.
Should you be worried or should you be relieved?

Things change every day and it seems that no one
               knows what is going on.
As I drove to the gas station yesterday to fill up

gasoline was wearing a mask, and the streets were
eerily empty. In fact, the people who were actually
desperate enough to go out and buy the food and
goods they needed were going in and out of the gas
station while practicing “social distancing,” so it was
awkward to watch them walk past each other while
trying to avoid one another while still being kind.
Since mid-March of 2020, our federal and local
governments have been pushing us, pleading with

us, and mandating us to help stop the spread of the
virus with the same intensity and focus that I used
to employ as a kid to avoid physical contact with the
