Below is my speech from my Retirement party on April 13th, I thought I would share it with the Members and
Sponsored Guests that were not able to attend.
“Thank you all for coming to say goodbye. It is great to see so many of you here.
I know a lot of you will be leaving for the summer, and with the clubhouse closing, this was the best time for a
party and for me to say goodbye and thank you for your support over the years!
I cannot believe that I have been at Bocaire for 17 years and your General Manager for 5 years. I have
worked with 11 Presidents over this time. Where has the time gone!
I have had my challenges since becoming GM less than a week before Christmas in 2017! First there were
the termites and tenting the building, followed by the kitchen makeup air system which was to stop members
getting rained on when they sat at certain tables in the lounge, and then, the biggest challenge of all, COVID!
Let’s not forget that there have also been a few hurricanes along the way!
I have a great team of employees at every level, and it has been a joy to work with them.
It has been my goal to leave Bocaire better than I found it and I hope you will agree that I have done that!
Richard and I plan to do a lot of traveling! We have a lot to make up for as he hasn’t seen much of me these
last 5 years!! It is going to be strange not working Holidays but I am sure I will get used to it really quickly!
There are exciting times ahead for Bocaire with the new clubhouse and new General Manager. I wish
Bocaire only the very best and I hope that I will be Invited back to see the opening of the Clubhouse! Thank
you all!”

education series is to exploit the reasons and misconceptions of why we need to close the course for
