We have hit the
ground running
t has been less than two months since we reopened our offices for the
Inew year, but it feels like we never closed.
The first few weeks of the year have been excitingly busy as we prepare to
finalise the financial year and plan for some great initiatives for 2022/23.
One of these activities was our hosting of the Namibia Training Authority
(NTA) for their skills development visit to South Africa. In this landmark
collaboration that was formalised in 2019, the visit culminated in the
renewing of a memorandum of understanding between the W&RSETA
and NTA. This mutually beneficial partnership will enhance our research
innovation in not only forecasting but responding to the ever-changing
skills needs of the Wholesale and Retail Sector. MANDATORY GRANT
While on the issue of research, in the next few months, you can look
forward to the W&RSETA’s inaugural Research Conference planned for APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN
May 2022. The conference will create a platform for us to engage
stakeholders on recommendations from key research studies that
we have conducted in recent years. The objective is to translate the

the skills and transformation gaps in the sector.
