Springing
into a new season
with gratitude
pring is here once again, ushering in new beginnings,
Srenewed hope and new opportunities. The recent relaxation
of the COVID-19 restrictions has provided some relief from the
uncertainty of the past 18 months.
We have reached the half mark of our financial year! The end of
September proved to be another eventful period on the calendar
of the W&RSETA as we concluded the second quarter of our
financial year despite the challenges we faced from the impact
of COVID-19 and recent unrests in some parts of the country.
We remain grateful for the support of our stakeholders that has
enabled us to make significant progress in the achievement of
our targets.
We are hopeful that the recent move to COVID-19 Lockdown
Alert Level 2 and implementation of the vaccination programme
will have significant impact and help the country to return to some
level of normalcy where our companies can continue to rebuild
Message from the their businesses particularly as we move to the festive season.
Editor-in-Chief On the skills development front, the main highlight this month
was the training of some 2 400 entrepreneurs from the Informal
Traders and Micro Enterprises (ITAMED) programme. As the
W&RSETA, the development of informal traders remains a key
In this issue priority in ensuring that these businesses which are the engine of
the township and rural communities, become sustainable to grow
