Forging ahead,
together!
A bright future for Wholesale and
Retail Sector’s future leaders
his month, we commemorated one of the landmark events of
Tour country; 16 June 1976. The memory of the courageous
young, black students who took it upon themselves to stand up
and be counted in realising the democratic South Africa that we
all enjoy today remains in our hearts with great honour. Though
democracy came with many opportunities for South Africans
including significant gain in education for young people and
women, it also presents its own challenges with regard to high
levels of unemployment, poverty and inequality in South Africa.
While cognisant of these challenges, we are encouraged by the
millions of youths who are taking opportunities in skills development
that are available to them through various institutions including
the SETAs.
We applaud every young person who has persevered, shown
tenacity, and dedication in completing their programmes through
the various SETA projects. From our TVET college and university
graduates, learnership graduates and our young dynamites from
the SETA's management development programmes, we add our
voice to the many in celebration of these young people, particularly
those in the Wholesale and Retail Sector who are changing the Holding the knife by the sharp edge. Florina Morabe is a
