W&RSETA contributes to community skills development























      n line with the NSDP 2030 Outcome 5, the W&RSETA aims to  contribute to the capacitation of TVET and Community Education
     Iand Training colleges through infrastructure development, equipment and lecturer capacitation.

     Following the establishment of CET colleges in 2015, the W&RSETA is investing in strengthening these institutions that are aimed at
     mass skills development through education and training programmes for adults, youth, unemployed people, and those employed
     in low or semiskilled occupations. The colleges improve access to education and training opportunities to rural and township
     communities.

     The W&RSETA is investing R118 million to support the CET colleges. This investment comprises of R50 million for the refurbishment
     of 54 community learning centres nationally to establish  ICT laboratories. These centres are part of the nine CET colleges. In
     addition, R60 million has been budgeted for the construction of a skills centre in Rietz for the Free State CET College. Another R8
     million has  been allocated for infrastructure support.
