TEACHER’S REPORT

“The study of nature is a large, if not, the only part of

          Science.”

As a part of a ISA activity – PHYSICIAN PLANTS, Students

of STD VI were taken on a Nature Walk around the school

campus. SBOA School and Junior College has rich greenery

and an eco- friendly environment. Students were highly

          excited and enthusiastic.

In the Rock Garden, there are more than 30 different

medicinal plants. Students noted down the common and

scientific names of the medicinal plants and their

medicinal values and also surveyed the number of trees,

shrubs and herbs around the campus.

In the Terrace Garden students learnt about the

various organic vegetables and fruit plants that are used

as medicines for common ailments. Teachers explained to

them about the nature of plants, types of flowers and

fruits and the type of soil required for their growth. It was

an enriching activity for the students.

Based on their survey during the Nature walk,

students filled a survey sheet specifying the type of plants,

their leaf venation, type of root and medicinal values of

the plants that the observed during the walk. Teachers

evaluated and graded the survey sheets filled by the

          students.
